WAYNE, Pa. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet management software and automated fuel management systems, announced today that it has signed a contract with the City of Huntsville, Alabama to deploy its fleet management software application.

The City of Huntsville Fleet Management Division is tasked with making sure each city department has properly equipped and well-maintained vehicles and equipment which aid them in performing their duties. Responsibilities include the procurement, fueling services, and repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles and equipment, ranging from automated garbage trucks to emergency response vehicles to mowing equipment. Staffed by over 40 employees with two maintenance facilities, the Division manages a fleet of 2,500 vehicles and equipment.

Looking to move beyond their existing mainframe system which no longer could support their operations, the Fleet Management Division went through a competitive selection process before choosing AssetWorks FleetFocus Fleet Management System. FleetFocus can help the City of Huntsville achieve its goals to obtain accurate history, billing and lifecycle data for the fleet. FleetFocus also offers direct integration with the NAPA TAMS point-of-sale system, which was an important factor for the city.

"After looking at several options, we determined that AssetWorks FleetFocus was the most comprehensive software solution available," states Jeff Easter, General Services Director, City of Huntsville.

As the city moves forward with its implementation of the new fleet management system, their future plans also call for the installation of AssetWorks FuelFocus and KeyValet. FuelFocus is a comprehensive automated fueling solution that can help fleets save 10-15% in fuel costs through improved efficiency and reduced shrinkage. KeyValet is an automated motor pool solution that can reduce the staffing requirements for a motor pool and improve customer service through increased availability. Both FuelFocus and KeyValet integrate seamlessly with FleetFocus, providing a single database where all relevant fleet data is stored.
