OVERLAND PARK, Kan., March 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A unique, high-level soccer camp will take place this summer in Kansas City and in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Known as the Catholic Soccer Camps, (CSC) it is an intense and gratifying experience that combines soccer training with Catholicism. It is for youth and young adult campers (male and female alike) ages 7 to 17. The Kansas City camp will take place from July 18th to July 22nd at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. The Green Bay camp is from July 11th to July 15th at St. Norbert College.

Massimo Carli and Luigi "Gigi" Dusatti are the featured professional-level coaches and scouts from Italy. Massimo Carli is a Regional Select Coach in the Verona Region of Italy and is also Coaching Director with Trento Calcio. He is the former Head Youth Coach (U-16) for Verona Calcio in the Italian professional league, and a former Head Coach of Castelnuovo in northern Italy (Serie D). Massimo played in the Italian Serie D and Interregionale throughout his career. Gigi Dusatti is the Head Youth Manager for Rovereto Calcio in the north of Italy, and served a similar role with Trento Calcio. He also played in the Italian Serie D and is a pro-scout and advisor for numerous professional soccer clubs.

CSC Founder and Head Coach, Antonio Soave, said, "This is a great opportunity for young soccer players to sharpen their skills while enhancing their Catholic faith. It is literally an exemplification of faith in action. Due to overwhelming commitment to sports, athletes tend to become great witnesses for the faith."

Catholic Soccer Camps links sophisticated soccer training with the Catholic faith by incorporating on-field prayer, daily mass, praise & worship and confession during the week. Young soccer players can grow in their faith while exponentially progressing in the sport. Additionally, teamwork and self-esteem are advocated at all levels of play and competition, and various aspects of Italian language and culture are shared with campers. It is truly an international soccer experience with profound Catholic-Christian roots.

CSC is in collaboration with Varsity Catholic (a division of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) and Catholic Athletes for Christ in Washington, D.C.). For more information or to sign up for the camp, call Anthony Martinez and/or Michael Martinez at 913-549-4871 or check out www.CatholicSoccerCamps.com.
