ConnectivityWeek Explores Critical Energy Issues, Beyond Smart Grid

DALLAS, March 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Clasma Events will hold the ninth annual ConnectivityWeek Conference May 23-26, 2011 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif., to explore how information and communications technologies can help manage energy and deliver efficiency to the power grid and energy consumers.

In the midst of dozens of Smart Grid conferences, ConnectivityWeek delves deep into the solutions needed to democratize energy across all consumer segments, while connecting industry leaders to share ideas for delivering Smart Grid benefits beyond the grid.

Through an array of tracks focused on residential, commercial, infrastructure and industrial consumers, ConnectivityWeek's "meeting of the minds" format brings together stakeholders shaping the future of energy, including utilities, consumers, policymakers, telecommunications and information technology (IT) companies.

ConnectivityWeek helps attendees focus on the breadth of applications, tools and products that can be used across multiple horizontal applications. The four-day event explores the value propositions, business models, and technologies needed to deliver the efficiency, productivity and cost benefits of the Smart Grid, beyond the grid.

"Just as the Internet enabled consumers of media to become their own authors of content, Smart Grid technologies and applications will open doors for consumers to take more control over their energy usage, make efficient choices, and even generate their own power," said Anto Budiardjo, president and CEO of Clasma Events.

With more than 1,500 attendees, including 200 speakers, and an expo hall, ConnectivityWeek provides a stage for industry collaboration that will help participants integrate the smart energy mindset into their business models. Educational tracks include: BuilConn, HomeConn, IndConn, InfraConn, DR-Expo and GridWise Expo. Visit www.ConnectivityWeek.com, or follow the conference on Twitter: www.Twitter.com/ConnWeek.
