RF Code and Geist Introduce Integrated Offering for Data Center Power Monitoring

Instrumenting a data center for power monitoring is fast becoming a best practice, driven by the need to have information about power usage at the rack level. Having this information gives data center managers the information and flexibility they need to run more efficient, power-smart facilities. Until now, the problem has been how to do this cost effectively. Wired power monitoring solutions require an Ethernet connection, which is expensive to both install and maintain.

Instead of utilizing an Ethernet connection for each PDU, Geist customers can now just easily plug an RF Code R170 PDU Tag into the Geist PDU. The solution then streams the current monitoring data "wire-freely" over the RF Code radio frequency infrastructure into RF Code's Sensor Manager software or Geist's Environet platform. (See related release.) Either gives a unified look into a data center's power usage.
