May 16: La Femme International Film Festival Opens Call for Entries for 7th Annual Season
Animation, shorts, features, webisodes and games - included in Early Bird entry discount
The Early Bird Discount submission deadline ends May 16; closing date to submit to the festival is August 22 under the "I Forgot Deadline." Entries may be submitted online now on LAFemme.org (http://www.lafemme.org).
"An amazing season is in store with the expanded competition categories for LA Femme this year," said LaPage. Festival competition categories have grown to include even more than the features, documentaries, shorts, music videos, commercials and screenplays; new categories include animation shorts, animation features, webisodes, mobisodes, and games, in all avenues of worldwide media related to Internet, mobile, gaming and animation content.
The four-day LA Femme Festival event in Los Angeles hosts special networking events at L.A. hot spots, with a gala Awards Ceremony attended by A-List celebrities: over 100 independent features, shorts, music videos, commercials, special screenings and seminars are being shown.
LA Femme celebrates and empowers female artists creating media for a worldwide audience. LA Femme showcases works "by women for everyone" from all over the world. LA Femme will be working closely to assist the winners of the festival with more opportunities to show their work.
LaPage added, "No Festival does what we do for women - we work hard to get our women filmmakers, writers, and producers seen, sold and produced. We have a very high success rate with distributed and produced films that were screened at our festival."
Previous Celebrity Award Honorees include among others:
- Angela Bassett (Green Hornet)
- Virginia Madsen (Sideways)
- Marianne Jean-Baptise (Without a Trace)
- Sara Gilbert ( Roseanne)
