ATC Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Visit from Congressman

ATC personnel provided the Congressman an overview of current ATC development efforts. Impressed by the focus on innovation, Congressman Paulsen asked how Washington could help create and maintain a business environment that fosters technology-driven entrepreneurial companies like ATC, which continue to drive the economy into recovery.

ATC accomplishments highlighted to the Congressman include:

    --  ATC's Satellite Data Exchange (SDX) product used by the Coast Guard to
        provide efficient, secure exchange of Coast Guard operational messages
        over commercial satellite links.

    --  The TCP-Tactical transport protocol ATC developed with DARPA funding
        that can improve application throughput by over an order of magnitude
        for the high-loss, high-latency networks that are commonly encountered
        in military tactical communication networks.

    --  ATC's crucial role in the development of the Federal Aviation
        Administrations Final Approach Runway Occupancy Signal (FAROS) system
        that began Operational Evaluation at Dallas Fort Worth Airport in 2008.
        FAROS, which provides visual feedback to pilots regarding runway
        occupancy, is slated for operation at DFW and LAX to provide an extra
        safety margin while not impacting the efficient flow of air traffic at
        high-density facilities.

    --  Staff scientist Dr. Frank Adelstein's presentation on peer-to-peer
        forensics software at the DoD Cyber Crime Conference in Atlanta. Dr.
        Adelstein led the development of P2P Marshal, one of ATC's award-winning
        digital-forensic investigative tools. Further information about this
