WaveJet Names Sagon-Phior Agency of Record
SANTEE, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - WaveJet, (www.wavejetcom),
pioneer and industry leader in Personal Water Propulsion (PWP) and
personal water sports first patented light-weight jet drive technology
for surfboards, stand up paddle boards (SUPs), rescue boards, light
boats and kayaks, today announces it has appointed award-winning, Los
Angeles-based advertising and branding firm, Sagon-Phior, (www.sagon-phior.com),
as its agency of record.
Sagon-Phior will develop a national and international, strategic
marketing and branding program for WaveJet. The integrated program will
include brand development, go-to-market strategies, advertising,
packaging, event planning, broadcast, print, public relations, digital
and social media, to launch, support and aggressively position one of
surfing's most unique new products and companies. WaveJet's PWP jet pod
system is powered by a twin lithium ion battery system that propels any
type of board over water at 8-to-10 knots with a rider, which is 4 to 5
times faster than paddling.
"We are very excited to tap into Sagon-Phior's talent for growing some
of the world's leading brands as we launch our first line of products
into the arena of global water sports and rescue," said Mike Railey,
CEO, WaveJet. "Our mission is to allow anyone on a surf board to break
free from traditional limitations. With a WaveJet, you have the ability
to catch or drop into waves without requiring tow-in assistance from a
Jet Ski or boat. It also gives surfers the freedom to play in almost any
conditions and make the most out of small or blown-out surf.
"We selected Sagon-Phior because they understand the surfing and
personal watercraft industries and perhaps most importantly, the true
culture of surfing. Sagon-Phior offered us a fully integrated approach
without hiring several different firms. We were most comfortable
trusting their ability to help us introduce and popularize this
revolutionary new technology and successfully build and support our
retail and OEM sales channels."
WaveJet's integrated twin lithium ion battery pack is capable of 20
pounds of thrust and a continuous run-time of over 30 minutes, all
operated by a unique patented wireless wrist controller that can read
radio waves through water and a technology currently being used by the
US Navy.
"WaveJet's propulsion drive will dramatically enhance when, where and
how we surf due to conditions and locations," said Steve Walden,
President of Walden Surfboards. "WaveJet's PWP is really amazing. It
allows you to catch and drop into more waves and gain extra speed
through sections. It gives you the energy you need to paddle distances,
catch more sets or just simply get back to the beach. Think of PWP as a
power pack for your ride. Walden Surfboards is the first launch partner
designing for WaveJet and will utilize the technology in their short
boards, long boards and SUPs. Walden is also developing a unique rescue
board for lifeguards."
The WaveJet PWP pod is designed for use in an open variety of boards and
personal watercraft from kayaks and kiteboards to small watercraft and
scuba diving. WaveJet technology is a quiet, safe and green alternative
to outboard motors and other external power sources.
"Sagon-Phior is very pleased to be awarded the opportunity to work with
WaveJet. We have the chance to help totally change how people experience
and perceive water sports, WaveJet's patented PWP technology can be
applied to many popular and new form factors," said Glenn Sagon, CEO,
Sagon-Phior. "We appreciate and admire WaveJet's innovation,
inventiveness and commitment to creating a new water sport experience
and business model."
