ASCC Deploys Datacard MPR5800 System for Financial Card Personalization
MINNETONKA, Minn. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Datacard
Group is pleased to announce that Asia Smart Cards Centre (ASCC) has
successfully deployed the Datacard
MPR5800 card personalization and production system to respond to
the challenging and growing financial card market in Asia Pacific. The
service bureau is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and has
personalized more than 30 million cards over the last 10 years for
Malaysia's financial institutions.
The first outsource personalization centre in Malaysia, ASCC provides
smart card personalization for Malaysia's Payment Multipurpose Card
(PMPC).
Mr. Koh Chor Meng, General Manager of the ASCC personalization center
has used legacy Datacard personalization solutions and
competitive systems in the previous years. However, due to increased
demands and ever-changing technology trends, ASCC was looking for a
personalization solution that would fulfill the demands of future
requirements.
"We decided on the Datacard MPR5800 solution, because it enables us to
offer a wider range of services to the region. To our satisfaction, we
have been using the Datacard MPR3000 system for the last 10
years, and we are confident in the quality and the capability of the
MPR5800 system," Koh said. "The MPR5800 system gives us the
opportunity to offer card personalization services to global card
manufacturers, who have developed card application software on their
Datacard systems. The deployment of the MPR5800 system will help with a

As today's requirements for financial cards continue to change, the
MPR5800 system is fully equipped to meet the new standards and card
trends. Whether it is in traditional embossing technology or indent
printing, the system is designed to personalize up to 6,000 financial
cards per hour. For bureaus producing high volumes of GSM cards, the
MPR5800 system enables the personalization of SIM cards at a low
cost-per-card.
