Econsultancy launches full-time MSc in Digital Marketing Communications

London, 10 March 2011 - Econsultancy, the leading provider of information and education to the digital marketing and e-commerce industries, has today announced the launch of a full-time MSc in Digital Marketing Communications.

Econsultancy developed the world’s first MSc in Digital Marketing Communications in 2007, combining industry-led training with academic support and accreditation from Manchester Metropolitan University. The full-time programme builds on this success, running over just 12 months instead of the current three years taken to complete the part-time course.

The full-time course has been developed to support the increase in interest in a digital marketing career from recent graduates as well as professionals taking a break from the workplace who are looking to fast-track their career.

During the course of the MSc, students will examine strategy and planning for digital marketing, analytics and web measurement, web project management, legal considerations for digital marketers, integrated marketing communications, and a range of specialised acquisition, conversion and retention methods.

Students will be encouraged to find organisations to provide real world projects upon which to base their assignments and dissertation, and Econsultancy is working with businesses to provide internship and placement opportunities after graduation.

MSc delegates will benefit from Econsultancy and MMU’s strong industry networks, as well as having access to the MSc students enrolled on the part-time programme who come from a range of organisations including COI, ExactTarget, Expedia, Orange, RedEye and Weber Shandwick.

David Edmundson-Bird, course director at MMU commented, “In such a competitive job market it’s vital that recent graduates are able to differentiate themselves. By running the course over 12 months and keeping costs relatively low, we’re able to help students who want to quickly develop their digital skills, without compromising on the cutting-edge industry education that spelled success for the part-time MSc.”

Vivien Underwood, Training Manager at Econsultancy added, “The digital industry has jobs to fill but a real lack of qualified individuals to recruit. The full-time course not only provides students with a forward-looking, industry-focused skill set, it also gives the industry the opportunity to get involved: supporting digital education and benefitting directly as a result.

The full-time MSc in Digital Marketing Communications will start in September 2011 at a cost of £8950 + VAT. Application packs can be requested from masters@econsultancy.com or by calling 020 7269 1478 stating DMCFT11.

Econsultancy is also currently accepting applications for the part-time MSc in Digital Marketing Communications and the part-time MSc in Internet Retailing. You can receive an application pack by contacting masters@econsultancy.com and quoting DMCPT11 or IRPT11 respectively.
