PCTEL Unveils Wide Spectrum LMR Antenna at IWCE
LAS VEGAS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ: PCTI),
a leader in antenna and scanning receiver solutions, showcased its new
wide spectrum multi-band antenna for mobile public safety applications
at the IWCE 2011 today. The new antenna will support new multiband radio
technology designed to provide full interoperability among emergency
management and response personnel, regardless of radio band used.
PCTEL's PCTWSLMR antenna provides outstanding coverage of VHF and UHF
frequencies (136-174MHz, 380-520MHz and 762-870MHz) in a
ready-to-install, no tune design. Its multi-band elements are housed in
a rugged, impact-resistant housing for maximum durability and its base
is designed to interface with standard NMO mobile mounts to facilitate
existing installation upgrades on public safety vehicles.
"Nearly a decade after the attacks of September 11, 2001 that severely
challenged our country's emergency communications infrastructure, the
FCC has mandated that the 700 MHz public safety mobile broadband
networks use Long Term Evolution (LTE) to support roaming and
interoperable communications for public safety applications," said Jeff
Miller, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for PCTEL. "Our new
wide spectrum, multi-band antenna uses leading edge technology to
support new multi-band LMR radios and provide seamless coverage for
future mission critical communications. As a leading supplier of
antennas for land mobile radio and public safety applications, PCTEL is
actively working with leading LMR radio manufacturers to develop optimal
antenna solutions to ensure excellent performance and reliability of
these new networks," added Miller.
PCTEL will demonstrate its new wide spectrum multi-band antenna along
with its portfolio of public safety antenna products at the IWCE
Exhibition in Las Vegas, March 9-11, 2011. Please Visit the PCTEL booth
#5129. PCTEL's PCTWSLMR antenna will be available for sale by the end of
April. Further details can be obtained from our website at www.antenna.com.
