Hesse will be a Celebrity Judge at this year's Florida Strawberry Festival on March 11, 2011 at the Celebrity Dessert Challenge which starts at 1:00 PM in Plant City, Florida.
Hesse is no stranger to competition and being judged, especially with his stints on Hell's Kitchen. His experience will make him an elite candidate for the position at this year's Florida Strawberry Festival as a judge in the Celebrity Dessert Challenge.
Hesse made his mark in the cooking industry when he appeared on the hit television reality series "Hell's Kitchen" vying for one of Chef Gordon Ramsey's elite restaurants in season 5.
A medical condition would force Hesse to leave the show early, even though he was one of Ramsey's top choices to win the grueling competition.
With an overwhelming demand for Hesse's return and clearance from his doctor, Hesse would return to Hell's Kitchen in season 6, and finish in the top 4.
This competition has a lot less yelling than Hell's Kitchen but Hesse will judge with his strict guidelines while using his professional pallet that the great chefs have.
"Desserts are just as important to the meal as the actual entree" says Hesse and adds "the desserts compliment the experience; it's like signing your name to a letter, it completes the entire meal. A good desert can make you just as popular as a delicious entree."
This year's Florida Strawberry Festival is even better than last year, packed full of great rides, entertainment and of course... mouth watering strawberries grown fresh in Plant City, Florida. Strawberries are what made that city famous.
