Telemundo's La Reina Del Sur Outperforms Univision for Second Consecutive Day
MIAMI - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Telemundo's "La Reina Del Sur" outperformed Univision across key
demographics on Wednesday, according to Nielsen Media Research. "La
Reina del Sur" grew two consecutive days in a row with 3.1 million total
viewers (persons 2+) and delivered over 2 million (2,009,000) adults
18-49, up 29% and 31%, respectively, from Monday's premiere.
Additionally, "La Reina del Sur" ranked #1 at 10pm among all broadcast
networks in men 18-34, regardless of language.

The delivery of "La Reina del Sur" helped push Wednesday's
primetime (7-11pm) average to 1,683,000 total viewers, Telemundo's
best prime performance among regularly scheduled programming in NTI
history. Locally, "La Reina del Sur" was #1 across all stations in the
time period in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Houston among key adult
demos, regardless of language. Among Spanish-language stations, the
telenovela was #1 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston and Chicago
among key demos.
In Houston, "La Reina del Sur" outperformed all stations regardless of
language for the third consecutive night. In Los Angeles, for the second
consecutive night among key demos "La Reina Del Sur" outperformed all
programs in the market regardless of language.
The telenovela's unprecedented numbers boosted Telemundo's other
programming, including local news. Telemundo's local Miami station
delivered the #1 late newscasts in the market for the third consecutive
night among adult key demos. On Wednesday, local late news was #1 in Los
Angeles, New York, Miami, and Dallas across all stations among key adult
demos, regardless of language. Telemundo's local newscasts also
outperformed Univision's local newscasts in Los Angeles, New York,
Miami, Chicago and Dallas among adult key demos.
Telemundo's mobile and digital platforms continue to surge since the
premiere of "La Reina del Sur" , with traffic generating double-digit
growth. On the "La Reina del Sur" website on Telemundo.com, the first
two nights generated a total of 2.2 million page views, 74,000 unique
users, and a total of 368,000 video streams. On mobile, the "La Reina
del Sur" site generated over 50,000 unique users and 300,000 page views.
The telenovela's facebook page has garnered over 13,000 fans and 600
Twitter followers.
