Mike Cook Will Be The Florida Wing's New Commander
By NOTF
CAP Col. Chris Moersch, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP)'s Florida Wing commander, confirmed this morning that CAP Lt. Col. Mike Cook has been selected as his replacement.
"I think he'll do an excellent job," Col. Moersch said.
Cook is a former U.S. Navy submariner and lives in Jacksonville, Fla. "He knows what right looks like," Col. Moersch said. When asked if this would mean that the Florida Wing's headquarters would be moving, Col. Moersch said that the headquarters would be moving from Coast Guard Air Station Miami soon. "The full-time staff is aware of the pending relocation," Col. Moersch said, "but it's not going to Jacksonville.
We need a permanent place that we can call home," the colonel said, but the Wing's new location has apparently not been confirmed as yet.
