Telemundo Positioned to Finish February as the Only Major Spanish-Language Broadcast Network with Year over Year Growth among Key Demos
MIAMI - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Telemundo, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in
the U.S. and audiences around the world, today announced its NTI results
to date for the month of February. Telemundo is reporting year-over-year
growth among total viewers (Persons 2+), Adults 18-49, Women 18-49 and
Women 18-34 in both Monday through Friday and Monday through Sunday
prime, while all major Spanish-language Broadcast networks experienced
declines. Telemundo maintains a strong hold on the #2 Spanish-language
network ranking in prime time across the key adult and female
demographics as well as total viewers (Persons 2+).
During Monday through Friday prime, Telemundo delivered 1,165,000 total
viewers (Persons 2+) (vs. 965,000) +21%, 621,000 Adults 18-49 (vs.
575,000) +8%, 359,000 Women 18-49 (vs. 276,000) +30% and 183,000 Women
18-34 (vs. 157,000) +17%. Telemundo holds double-digit leads over
Telefutura in Monday through Friday prime among Adults 18-49 (+20%),
Women 18-49 (+67%), Adults 18-34 (+13%), Women 18-34 (+56%) and total
viewers (Persons 2+) (+32%).
During Monday through Sunday prime, Telemundo averaged 1,102,000 total
viewers (Persons 2+) (vs. 955,000) +15%, 605,000 Adults 18-49 (vs.
567,000) +7%, 323,000 Women 18-49 (vs. 253,000) +28% and 170,000 Women
18-34 (vs. 144,000) +18%. The network also holds substantial advantages
over Telefutura in Monday through Sunday prime across key demographics,
including Adults 18-49 (+15%), Women 18-49 (+50%), Adults 18-34 (+10%),
Women 18-34 (+40%) and total viewers (Persons 2+) (+22%).
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Caso Cerrado con Dra. Ana Maria Polo
February to date, Caso Cerrado con Dra. Ana Maria Polo at 4pm is
averaging 673,000 Adults 18-49, a +26% year-over-year increase
(534,000). Caso Cerrado con Dra. Ana Maria Polo is on track this
month to deliver its best performance in Telemundo's NTI history among
Adults 18-49 (673,000), Men 18-49 (294,000), Adults 18-34 (326,000), Men
18-34 (139,000) and total viewers (1.5 million).
During the week of February 14, Caso Cerrado con Dra. Ana Maria Polo
at 4pm averaged 668,000 viewers among Adults 18-49 with a 45% share of
the Spanish-language television audience. The program out-delivered
Telefutura's Veredicto Final by +650% in the demographic
(89,000). For the second time this season, Caso Cerrado's weekly
delivery among total viewers (Persons 2+) passed the 1.5 million mark
(1,504,000). The week of February 14 also marked the 8th time this
season that Caso Cerrado con Dra. Ana Maria Polo was the #1
Spanish-language program at 4pm among total viewers (Persons 2+).
In the 7pm hour, Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar delivered
impressive gains across the board in February 2011. Compared to February
2010's delivery in the time period, Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar has
more than doubled deliveries among Adults 18-49 (743,000 vs. 370,000),
+101%, Women 18-49 (415,000 vs. 140,000), +196%, Women 18-34 (196,000
vs. 81,000) +142%, and total viewers (Persons 2+) (1,529,000 vs.
696,000), +120%. Additionally, Telemundo posted double-digit increases
in the time period over February 2010 among Adults 18-34 (+65%), Men
18-49 (+43%) and Men 18-34 (+19%).
Caso Cerrado Edicion Estelar delivered more than two times as
many viewers, on average, as Telefutura's Laura in February among Adults
18-49 (743,000 vs. 344,000) +116%, Women 18-49 (415,000 vs. 168,000),
+147%, Women 18-34 (196,000 vs. 85,000), +132% and total viewers
(Persons 2+) (1,529,000 vs. 648,000) +136%. The program also had an
impressive double-digit percentage lead among Adults 18-34 (+84%), Men
18-49 (+87%) and Men 18-34 (+47%).
Alguien Te Mira
At 10pm, Alguien Te Mira's finale on February 25 averaged 834,000
Adults 18-49 and nearly 1.5 million total viewers. In its final week Alguien
Te Mira averaged 796,000 Adults 18-49 and nearly 1.4 million total
viewers. The novela's delivery in the Adults 18-49 demographic grew
consistently month-to-month, nearly doubling its audience from September
2010 to February 2011: 350,000 in September, 402,000 in October, 513,000
in November, 528,000 in December, 603,000 in January and 684,000 in
February.
Al Rojo Vivo
Al Rojo Vivo averaged 481,000 among Adults 18-49 during the week
of February 14, its second best delivery this season. Al Rojo Vivo
has averaged 497,000 Adults 18-49 in February to date, its best
performance since June 2009 (513,000).
Levantate
Levantate has averaged 102,000 viewers among Adults 18-49 in
February to date and is on pace to have its best performance ever.
During the week of February 14, Levantate averaged 107,000 Adults
19-49 and averaged as high as 143,000 viewers in the demographic on
Thursday, February 17.
