National Gypsum Launches New Website to Provide the Facts about Drywall
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - National Gypsum Company, one of the nation's largest manufacturers of
gypsum board, announced today the launch of a new website - www.DrywallFacts.com.
This new site aims to correct misperceptions and false statements about
the quality, safety and environmental record of National Gypsum drywall.
The site includes both basic facts about drywall as well as more
detailed scientific information and links to other relevant websites. It
is meant to serve as a central repository of key information and a quick
reference for use by the media, vendors, suppliers, builders and
consumers.
"We're fully confident of the safety and quality of our drywall," said
Craig Weisbruch, Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "The
controversy over defective Chinese drywall used during the most recent
housing boom has led to a great deal of public confusion regarding all
drywall - including American-made drywall. This new website presents the
facts to the public and we believe it will help set the record straight."
National Gypsum has manufactured its drywall in the U.S. - and only in
the U.S. - for more than 85 years. This essential building product, used
in homes, as well as institutional and commercial buildings, has
provided fire resistance and easy installation and finishing for
decades. National Gypsum drywall has earned numerous awards for safety
and product quality and has been recognized for its environmental
benefits by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It has also
achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®
status and GREENGUARD Children & SchoolsSM Certification.
Use of National Gypsum drywall has helped numerous building projects
earn Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification
under the U.S. Green Building Council's Green Building Rating System.
