"The Best Small & Medium Companies to Work for in America" list is produced by the Great Place to Work Institute, a research and management consultancy based in the U.S. with affiliate offices in over 40 countries throughout the world. Each year, the Institute works with Fortune Magazine and other publications to select "Best Companies to Work For" lists. Nominated companies must agree to share significant data about their employment practices and work conditions, among others, and to submit to a stringent confidential employee survey process.
