Police Officer Misbehaves With The Media

A police officer of Chandigarh Police lashed out derogatory remarks against a crime reporter of Punjabi daily Newspaper Deshsewak. The reporter was asking for some information regarding an accident.
A written complaint to U.T. SSP Naunihal Singh was submitted through its PRO Poonam Dilawari. The mediaman will meet with SSP personally to report the indifferent attitude of the SHO.
Mr. Aman Loona, a crime reporter of Deshsewak has reported that an accident has occurred in the jurisdiction of Sector 19 Police Station. Mr. Janak Rana, who was earlier posted at Sector 39 Police station, was allegedly manifesting untoward behaviors towards the journalist. He was not compliant with the request of the journalist who was gathering information about the recent accident near the vicinity of the police station.
A written complaint was submitted to the SSP, Chandigarh. The SSP will issue an immediate disciplinary actions against the SHO.
