Toy Fair 2011: GeoPalz Launches Two New Pedometers to Get Kids Moving
NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - GeoPalz (www.geopalz.com),
the award-winning popular decorative pedometer for kids, welcomes two
new water-resistant wrist and foot pedometers. Both versions are on
display at the American International Toy Fair in booth #5053 and offer
more options to help motivate families to track their physical activity.

For families that want another option to the original GeoPalz worn on
the waistband, a GeoPalz wrist and foot pedometer with display is now
available. The pedometer's face comes in several kid-friendly designs
that flip open to reveal the digital tracking display. The mode can be
changed to toggle between displaying the steps or the time of day.
GeoPalz also offers a smaller wireless version that can be read by a
separate wireless reader. In this wireless version users simply tap the
wireless reader to the device to retrieve its data. The reader can
connect to 20 separate pedometers - making it ideal for families with
several children with multiple devices per child, as well as for gym
teachers and youth athletic coaches for keeping track of multiple
children.
Both versions can be secured through a user's shoelaces and can also be
easily removed to fasten into colorful slap-style bracelets to be worn
on the wrist. The devices use highly-accurate accelerometers that can
measure speed and distance and can store up to 21 days of data.
"With the heightened importance of children's fitness, we wanted to
supply children with even more motivation to be active," said Rich
Schmelzer, CEO of GeoPalz, LLC. "These new pedometers give kids
additional ways to wear their GeoPalz, letting them further express
their personalities while having fun and being active."
The original GeoPalz pedometer for the waist, along with the new
pedometers for the wrist and foot, make up the new GeoPalz suite of
products targeted at families with children ages five and up. The
GeoPalz product family encourages children to "walk to win" by measuring
children's steps, which can then be entered online at the GeoPalz online
community to redeem a variety of gift cards, prizes and awards. On
average, users collectively track about 1 million steps per day.
The original GeoPalz is an easy-to-use pedometer that sits on your
child's belt or waistband, and comes in several kid-friendly designs in
various character groups, such as "Sports," "Rock," "Fantasy," "Cutesy,"
"Edgy" and popular "SkelanimalsTM." An updated version of the
original, with a more accurate pedometer and new designs, is also now
available.
The new GeoPalz wrist and foot pedometers retail to consumers for $24.99
and the optional slap-style bracelet retails for $9.99. The additional
digital reader for the wireless pedometers retails for $24.99.
The original GeoPalz activity tracker for kids retails for $19.99 and is
available in more than 250 retailers nationwide and also on the GeoPalz
website. You can find a store near you, or purchase online at www.geopalz.com/store.
