Tea Party Express Announces Two More Targets for 2012 Elections
The Tea Party Express (www.TeaPartyExpress.org), one of the largest national tea party groups, is pleased to announce that it will be targeting for defeat two more U.S. Senators in the upcoming 2012 elections: Republican Olympia Snowe (Maine) and Democrat Debbie Stabenow (Michigan).
Stabenow and Snowe join Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) and Richard Lugar (R-Indiana) who have already been announced as election targets for defeat by the Tea Party Express. A complete 2012 Tea Party Target List will be unveiled later this year.
"Olympia Snowe dishonors the notion that the Republican Party is supposed to be the fiscally conservative, constitutionalist political party in America. She voted for the bailouts, the failed stimulus plan, the repeal of tax cuts and showed her disdain for the constitution by voting in favor of the nominations of Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotamayer to the Supreme Court," said Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.
"Stabenow has been an advocate for the big government nanny state, forgetting that we the people tell the government what to do, not the other way around. She has had particular fondness for the authoritarian Fairness Doctrine, and we think it's only appropriate that the Senate be more fair and balanced by replacing her with a constitutional conservative," said Amy Kremer.
More details regarding the involvement of the Tea Party Express in these races will be released on Friday.
