CHICAGO, Feb. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Committee for Change officially announced their endorsement of Tom Courtney for Alderman. Courtney is challenging incumbent Alderman Walter Burnett Jr.

"Our goal is to support positive change in Chicago starting in the 27th Ward. The Committee for Change advocates for policies that will benefit the city and stand united against laws and ordinances that are negatively affecting the people and the growth of the 27th Ward in Chicago. We believe Mr. Courtney is the best candidate to represent our ward, and that he will work to revive the growth that has been stifled by career politicians," said Committee for Change and Westside Community Leader spokesperson, Larry Queen.

Tom Courtney will be hosting a Chicago Driver Survival Seminar Monday, February 21st at 7:00 PM. The free seminar will be held at Nia's Restaurant in the 27th Ward. Past speakers have included Alderman Moreno (1st Ward) and Alderman Moore (50th Ward). The seminar will assist residents with understanding how to avoid and fight parking tickets and red light violations as well as other driving hazards.

Providing free legal assistance for groundless administrative violations such as red light violations and parking tickets is something that Tom Courtney believes he can do for the 27th Ward as Alderman. By hosting this seminar Courtney is getting a head start on educating residents. "I am extremely appreciative of the support that I have received from the Committee for Change. I also am looking forward to meeting residents and sharing with them how to combat groundless administrative violations," said Tom Courtney (http://www.CourtneyForChicago.com).
