AuthenTec Selected to Provide Identity Management Software for HP Consumer Notebooks, Opens New Online Store for Fingerprint Sensor Products

Over time, we expect the store to be populated with the numerous applications that both AuthenTec and its partners will offer."

HP SimplePass provides convenient PC access with enhanced security, allowing HP notebook users to securely access online accounts and passwords with the swipe of a finger. SimplePass makes sticky notes and forgotten passwords a thing of the past by making a user's fingerprint the unique key to PC security. It provides simplified password management, reduces the risk of identity theft, stores information for easy online transactions, maintains preset preferences and files, and helps users set security controls. And since fingerprints are unique to everyone, multiple users can enjoy unique settings on the same PC.

Initial HP SimplePass Web store offerings include:

• AuthenTec KeepSafe - plug-in for HP SimplePass protects pictures, personal files and folders. Conveniently and securely protect personal information with the swipe of a finger; uses strong AES-128 encryption.
• Eikon Digital Privacy Manager - bundled package that combines the award-winning Eikon USB fingerprint reader with AuthenTec's TrueSuite 5.X identity management software to secure a PC and manage online identities. A plug and play security and identity management solution for desktop or notebook PCs that aren't already equipped with a fingerprint sensor.
• Proxure KeepVault –online cloud storage service that provides affordable, reliable, and real-time protection of data on secure servers and simultaneously provides backup to an external or networked hard drive. KeepVault provides 2x protection to ensure fast data backup and recovery in the event of accidental data loss, hardware failure, or disasters like floods, fire or theft.
