The National Hockey League Names CYBEX the Preferred Fitness Equipment of the League
MEDWAY, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Today, Cybex International, Inc. (NASDAQ: CYBI), a leading manufacturer
of premium exercise equipment, announced that it has been named the
Preferred Fitness Equipment of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Under the partnership, CYBEX equipment will now be utilized in every NHL
arena.
CYBEX Senior Vice President of Business Development Larry Gulko said,
"We are very pleased to be chosen as the Preferred Fitness Equipment of
the NHL. The physical demands of hockey stand out even among the elite
professional sports. The typical NHL player skates up to five miles per
game, at speeds approaching 30 miles per hour, carrying roughly 15
pounds of equipment, while being pushed, checked and hit, over an
82-game season. NHL players need to be in peak shape to be at the top of
their game. The League selected CYBEX because of the company's
dedication to exercise science and fitness and because CYBEX equipment
delivers unparalleled performance and the utmost in safety."
"CYBEX has been the fitness choice of many of the NHL teams for years,"
said Brian Jennings, the NHL's Executive Vice President of Marketing.
"This partnership strengthens the League's commitment to CYBEX and their
commitment to us. We are extremely excited to be partnering with the
leading brand of cardio and strength training equipment," he added.
Since entering into this partnership, a number of NHL players have
already ordered CYBEX equipment for their homes and workout facilities.
"These elite athletes recognize that no other brand delivers the results
they need to win on the ice," Gulko said.
