Dr. Andrew Ordon, Co-Host of the Emmy-Award Winning Series 'The Doctors', Honored on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- World-renowned Plastic Surgeon and co-host of the Emmy-award winning show 'The Doctors' is the new name shining brightly at 194 S. Palm Canyon Drive along the Palm Springs Walk of Stars. Dr. Andrew Ordon recently received the 334th Golden Palm Star. He splits his time between Rancho Mirage and West Hollywood, CA.

A historical landmark, Palm Springs Walk of Stars honors individuals with a Golden Palm Star embedded on the sidewalks of Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs. Honorees must have, by their presence in the area, contributed to the charm, worldwide prominence and name recognition of Greater Palm Springs. Dr. Andrew Ordon is being recognized with a star for his outstanding accomplishments as a Doctor, television host and philanthropist.

Ordon, who was hand-picked by Dr. Phil McGraw to star as co-host on "The Doctors," is a humanitarian who dedicates much of his time to serving others as a founding member of the Surgical Friends Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides reconstructive surgery to low-income citizens in the United States and abroad. He also supports the nonprofit organization "Smile Train." Ordon went to Haiti in 2010 and met a child named Emmanuel who suffered a severe head wound in the earthquake. A year later he reports that Emmanuel is doing great, and has healed beautifully without any infection. "It's about giving back our skills as reconstructive plastic surgeons to those in need who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity," said Dr. Ordon.
