Mamas Get More Sleep with Overnight Ready
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - When 650 women pack their bags to learn about the latest and greatest in
household innovations, the GE
Profile frontload steam washer with Overnight Ready stands out as a
time saving hero among the crowd.

The frontload steam washer's innovative "Overnight Ready" cycle washes
clothes, then removes so much moisture that clothes are comfortable to
wear without transferring to the dryer.*
To introduce the new "Overnight Ready" feature, GE (NYSE:GE) headed
to an event held at Nashville's Opryland Hotel. The Blissdom '11
conference welcomed some of the most influential women in our culture -
mommy bloggers.
Known for their savvy recommendations to save money and time, these
writers do the research on which other parents rely.
"It's not that I forget to wash it; I forget to dry it," said Tawanna
Browne Smith, author of the Mom's
Guide to Travel with Kids blog and mother of two.
Browne Smith is familiar with the late-night transfer of clothes from
the washer to the dryer. The victim - her son's football uniform.
"Seeing the demonstration of the Overnight Ready feature made me stop
and really pay attention. It's great for busy moms who have to wash a
uniform for their child's football game," said Browne Smith, who's
experienced getting her son late to a game because his uniform wasn't
dry.
"This is the first time GE Appliances participated in an event like this
and it was a perfect space for us since moms use these products. We
wanted to develop and build relationships, inform moms about the
product, and alert moms about the Overnight Ready feature and about the sock
loss campaign we plan to launch in March," said Allison Gatta,
public relations product manager for GE Appliances & Lighting.
"GE's 'me-time' spa exhibit gave bloggers the chance to see what they
could be doing instead of waiting on laundry while watching
a short video about the Overnight Ready feature," said Gatta.
"GE's exhibit was impressionable with the opportunity to look at the
washer and dryer without distractions from other vendors," says Browne
Smith who dropped off her registration form for a sweepstakes to win the
Profile series at GE's booth.
GE also held a sweepstakes with one winner receiving their choice of one
of four laundry pairs. Lucky for her son, Browne Smith won the laundry
pair. She chose the GE Profile frontload laundry pair in champagne and
will be donating her current laundry pair to a needy family from her
church. Browne Smith saw the Overnight Ready feature demonstrated at
Blissdom and realized the benefits this would have on her everyday life
and would complement her love of traveling. "The GE washer is perfect
for people who travel and have to stay up and finish washing something
that needs to be packed the next day," said Browne Smith.
The detergent-less scoop on overnight ready GE Profile's
frontload steam washer's innovative Overnight Ready is the first unit in
the industry** with the ability to wash small loads*** on an overnight
cycle. The cycle even helps prevent clothes wrinkling compared to
clothes that are left sitting in the washer overnight. The Overnight
Ready cycle keeps clothes moving gently up to eight hours to remove
moisture content. Two easy-to-clean filters trap lint for excellent
results.
"Having both that fresh-from-the-laundry feeling and a couple more hours
of sleep is a huge bonus for today's busy lifestyles," said Jennifer
Schoenegge, product manager, Clothes Care. "Now you don't have to
sacrifice your sleep to get the laundry done. Whether it's the kids'
soccer uniforms, a pair of jeans for casual Friday, or a few dress
shirts, the GE Profile frontload steam washer finishes the laundry while
you sleep."
