205th Infantry Brigade Hosts Media Day and Distinguished
CAMP ATTERBURY, Ind. - First Army Division East Commanding General Major Gen. J. Michael Bednarek along with 205th Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Timothy Newsome will host the Kosovo Forces Media Day and several distinguished visitors at Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center. Please join them in observing training exercises performed by Soldiers deploying to Kosovo for an upcoming peacekeeping mission. The KFOR event is scheduled for Feb. 10.
The units that make up the 14th group of Kosovo Forces include more than 700 Soldiers, all part of Multinational Battle Group-East from across 22 states.

Distinguished guests such as Maj. Gen. Martin R. Umbarger, The Adjutant General, Ind. and others will interact with Soldiers and observe training that will focus on actual missions in Kosovo. Key political leaders, numerous states adjutant generals, and veterans' service organization leaders from various states will be in attendance.
Some of the Army's most popular vehicles - the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, MRAP All Terrain Vehicle, various models of the improved versions of the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, and equipment from the explosive ordinance disposal team - will be exhibited for visitors to examine, and subject matter experts will be available to discuss the purpose and functions of the various vehicles. -more- NATO has been leading a peace support operation in Kosovo since June 1999 in support of wider international efforts to build peace and stability in the area. KFOR's presence has been and continues to be crucial in maintaining safety and security for all individuals and communities in Kosovo.
The events scheduled include a demonstration of an infantry quick reaction force, riot control response, medical evacuation of injured personnel and peace keeping operations. Afterward, a static display of equipment to be utilized by the KFOR-14 Soldiers will be available. You will also be given an opportunity to see Soldiers preparing to deploy to Kosovo in the Joint Operations Center (JOC).

Please be prepared to stop at the Installation PAO building number nine, located across the street from the entrance to Camp Atterbury and provide proof of identification for badging purposes.
