Tyco Electronics Provides Mobile Infrastructure for Dallas
MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Tyco Electronics (TE) today announced that its InterReach Fusion and
FlexWave Prism distributed antenna systems (DAS) have been deployed at
major sports and hospitality venues to support high-quality mobile
services for AT&T subscribers. The deployments come as Dallas prepares
to host America's premier professional football event in early February,
and they include stadiums, hotels, performing arts venues, and security
centers.
"While we have been planning these deployments for a year in some cases,
we knew we would come down to the wire in getting some of them
deployed," said Chris Jurasek, vice president of the Wireless and
Services business unit of TE. "The InterReach Fusion and FlexWave Prism
systems deliver coverage and capacity in all of these varied properties
and they could be deployed quickly - within four days in one case."
The deployments include FlexWave Prism systems at TCU Stadium and SMU
Stadium, which will serve as practice facilities for the two opposing
teams. InterReach Fusion systems provide mobile services for 3G on the
700MHz, 800MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100 MHz frequency bands with MIMO
functionality at the Anatole and Adolphus hotels, and two Dallas
Performing Arts Centers.
