Teachscape Hosts Charlotte Danielson Webinar on The Framework for Teaching

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Charlotte Danielson, educational consultant and author of The Framework for Teaching, will lead a webinar on how frameworks improve teaching and learning. Educators are invited to join Danielson's conversation around professional learning to better understand how her framework can be applied to support and develop good quality teaching. The presentation, in partnership with Teachscape, will provide attendees with valuable information on the benefits and the strategies associated with adopting The Framework for Teaching within their schools and districts.

The webinar, "A Framework for Teaching and Its Application to Professional Development," will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. EST/11 a.m. PST.

The Framework for Teaching is a research-based set of components of instruction that are grounded in a constructivist view of learning and teaching. The webinar will discuss how the framework can be used to offer clear, consistent standards for teacher observations while helping a school to develop a common language and coherent architecture to effect change and improve teaching practices. Danielson will further explain how the framework is used as the foundation of a school's or district's mentoring, coaching, or performance appraisal processes, and how The Framework for Teaching encourages professional conversations among educators as the basis for improving teaching and learning.
