Critically Acclaimed Author Makes an Appearance in Largo, FL
Acclaimed Author, John Greenburg will be at the Largo Public Library, February 6, 2011 from 1 to 3:00 PM signing his new books "The Grand Old Man: Amos Alonzo Stagg" and "Captain Courageous: My True Story".
The book "The Grand Old Man: Amos Alonzo Stagg" is based on the life of football legend Amos Alonzo Stagg, whose football career spanned 7 decades. His work in football helped define college football as it stands today. His work transcended college football into the developing NFL, where his work can still be found today.
In the upcoming Super Bowl, Stagg had a profound impact on legendary Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi, and the tremendous Packer offense back in the day. The winner of this year's Super Bowl will win the Lombardi trophy, named for the famed coach who Stagg inspired.
In addition to "The Grand Old Man: Amos Alonzo Stagg", Greenburg will also have his book "Captain Courageous: My True Story" based on the epic true life story of Captain Martin Skylark; available for signing.
This book tells the story of one man's will to survive, starting at the wee age of 7 months when Skylark was lost at sea. It depicts the heroic encounters he faced with pirates, the dangers in sea ports, hurricanes and sea monsters.
The book is packed with drama from cover to cover in a hard to putdown biography.
