PatientKeeper to Host HIMSS-Sponsored Webinar, "Deploying CPOE that Physicians Will Love"

The webinar will address the shortcomings of conventional computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems and the steps hospitals can take to deploy a CPOE system that physicians will actually use. The session will offer perspectives from a physician, a hospital executive currently leading a CPOE system deployment, and a healthcare IT provider.

Ms. Houser will describe a current CPOE deployment, while Mr. Brient and Dr. Hawkins will provide the IT and physician perspectives on this important topic, which directly impacts billions of ARRA incentive dollars for hospitals nationwide as well as patient safety, physician satisfaction and how IT can serve as a catalyst for both. During the webinar attendees will learn about:

She leads the team responsible for selecting and deploying CPOE and other clinical software at Ashe Memorial. Ms. Houser recently earned a master's degree in nursing, focusing her final project on Meaningful Use of information technology.
