Cron Systems Corp. Announces Delivery of Electric Guitar Learning Application to Raw Talent Group

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Cron Systems Corp, a worldwide software development company, is pleased to announce it has delivered to its customer (Raw Talent Group, www.rawtalentguitar.com) a fully functional Windows application that teaches first year or beginning students how to play the electric guitar. This software application breaks through the technology barrier in two distinct areas which have not been solved by any other personal computer application, in order to provide a real music learning experience.

Cron Systems developed and delivered the first known implementation of a spectro-temporal algorithm which, in this case, allows the Raw Talent Guitar application to effectively grade the student's performance during the exam sessions. The use of this algorithm eliminates the need for a personal guitar instructor and more importantly delivers consistent feedback to the student at all performance levels. The student plays the chords and notes for a particular exam while the algorithm analyzes and provides a percentage of achievement at the end of the guitar riff.

Additionally, Cron Systems enhanced the operation of the Guitar Learning application by developing an hybrid system level sound driver which mixes the sounds from the student's guitar with pre-recorded audio files to allow what is known as a bit-perfect (or zero latency) real time sound output on the computer's sound system. Typically, sound from an external device (such as an electric guitar) cannot be synchronized with a recorded audio file in real time on personal computers due to inherent operating system latencies. With this special driver, the student may hear their real time guitar output mixed with the pre-recorded audio files of the application. For certain audio files such as the "Bonus Tracks" , the student may elect to have either the lead or the rhythm guitar elements of the pre-recorded file eliminated and have their guitar output mixed real time with that pre-recorded audio file thus allowing the student to play dynamically with the music, all without any discernable delay.
