WikiLeaks: Al-Qaeda Planning to Attack America With Dirty Bomb

"Al-Qaeda is actively trying to secure nuclear material and recruiting rogue scientists to build a radioactive 'dirty' bomb, according to leaked diplomatic documents.

A leading atomic regulator has privately warned that the world stands on the brink of a "nuclear 9/11".

Security briefings suggest that jihadi groups are also close to producing "workable and efficient" biological and chemical weapons that could kill thousands if unleashed in attacks on the West.

Thousands of classified American cables obtained by the WikiLeakswebsite and passed to The Daily Telegraph detail the international struggle to stop the spread of weapons-grade nuclear, chemical and biological material around the globe." Read More

Al-Qaeda is known for spectacular attacks: The 1998 US embassy bombing in East Africa, The USS Cole bombing, and of course the 9-11 attacks.

Since 9-11 there have been a few attempted terrorist attacks in America by al-Qaeda inspired amateurs, but al-Qaeda has not launched another major attack against the United States.

We know that the evil terrorist group hasn't morphed into a benevolent organization, it's as determined as ever to destroy America. The horrifying reality may be that al-Qaeda wants its next attack to be more spectacular than 9-11. Only a nuclear or biological attack can be more spectacular and kill more people than 9-11.

Nobody should be surprised that Al-Qaeda is trying to secure nuclear material, and given its fanatical determination and wealthy Saudi-Arabian supporters they probably already have a dirty bomb.

Last year Obama declared that nuclear terrorism was the biggest threat to international security, let's hope that he isn't as much a wimp in private as he is in public. Behind the scenes Obama must warn the despotic rulers of Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries that detonation of a dirty bomb in America will change the rules of the game, and will result in the nuclear obliteration of Mecca.
