NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Jon Anda, who launched UBS Securities Environmental Markets Group in September 2010, has been named to the Board of Directors of the National Audubon Society. As leader of the new UBS group, Anda works with clean tech, utility, and industrial companies on the application of environmental policy analytics to financial decision making.

"Jon brings a singular and powerful understanding of how financial and environmental policy and interests can intersect to drive both conservation and business success," said Holt Thrasher, board chair and founder and manager of Mooreland Partners, an investment banking firm serving technology companies.

Anda began full time environmental markets work in 2007 at the Environmental Defense Fund and as a Visiting Fellow at the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy at Duke University. Prior, he spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley where he ran a number of business units, including Global Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Investment Banking & Equities in Asia, and served as a Vice Chairman of Institutional Securities.

"No one is more committed to finding market-based solutions to climate change than Jon - and no one is better equipped to do so," said David Yarnold, Audubon President & CEO. "Jon's leadership and expertise will be crucial as Audubon works to address this unprecedented environmental threat."

Anda has an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.S. from the University of Illinois. He is a trustee of the Asia Society, where he founded the U.S. - China Cooperation on Energy & Climate.
