New For 2011 ‘Man-Proof’ Gift For Valentine’s Day

Men now have no excuse for getting it wrong this Valentine’s Day, thanks to the efforts of a new North East website. The two local entrepreneurs behind LoveYourLarder.com have created a ‘man-proof’ present with the help of their female customers.

Together with independent local food producers, Tristan Watson and Colin Sharpe have put together a hamper of treats as chosen by over one hundred women in the North East.

LoveYourLarder.com co-founder Tristan Watson explains: ‘My cousin asked for help buying a Valentine’s gift for herself, because her husband would always buy such appalling gifts – one time she received vacuum attachments. We decided to ask our female customers what they’d like to receive, and created a hamper of treats to suit.’

The hamper includes high quality products from four of the North East’s best loved producers including: Raspberry and Rose Dark Chocolate Truffles from Davenport’s Chocolates in North Shields; Chocolate Pudding with Morello Cherries and Kirsch liqueur from Proof of the Pudding in Northumberland, Hot Chilli and Fennel Popcorn from Corn Again in Consett; and Strawberries & Cream with White Chocolate and Dark Chocolate With Orange fudge from Fudge Fancies from Teesside.

Tristan says: ‘We’ve created a present that is essentially ‘man-proof’ – it’s an all-in-one indulgent night of treats - and it’s impossible for boyfriends and husbands to get wrong, because it’s their girlfriends and wives who have chosen the goodies!’

‘If the girls want to share it with their other halves on Valentine’s night, that’s up to them,’ added Tristan.
