Stone & Youngberg Announces Webinar Series to Focus on Current Issues and Opportunities with Tax Increment Financing
RICHMOND, Va. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) and Stone
& Youngberg have partnered to develop a special six-part
national webcast series focused on tax increment finance (TIF). The TIF
Webcast Series will feature timely discussions and presentations
concerning the emerging use of TIF as a catalyst for economic
development. The series will explore the most pressing TIF issues facing
the industry today, while examining myths and misinformation about the
TIF process.
"CDFA is excited to partner with Stone & Youngberg through our national
TIF Coalition to launch this webcast series," said CDFA president & CEO,
Toby Rittner. "We are looking forward to an interactive and ongoing
discussion concerning tax increment finance use and making sure our
communities and lending institutions put this important tool to use in a
sound manner."
Tax Increment Financing is today a widely used and successful financing
tool in nearly every U.S. state, district, and territory with
authorizing statutes. It is a proven force in driving redevelopment,
reuse, urban and suburban infill, job creation, and investment growth
throughout the country. As
the nation's leader in tax increment financing, Stone & Youngberg
has underwritten 82 issues for a total par value of more than $2 billion
over the past five years - raising more capital using this financing
mechanism than any other firm in the country. 1
"In the current fiscal environment, municipalities nationwide are
increasingly looking to TIF financing as a way to fund large-scale
infrastructure projects," said Steve
Heaney, managing director and head of Stone & Youngberg's Public
Finance Group. "We have designed an insightful educational webinar
program to share our expertise as a national TIF financing leader with
states, localities and developers."
The webcast series is free and is part of CDFA's ongoing leadership
efforts to promote the sound use of tax increment finance. These
hour-long webcasts allow participants to join the discussion, view
presentations, and interact with experts around the country.
