Postmedia Network Announces Digital Advisory Board
TORONTO - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Reinforcing its commitment to a digital first strategy, Postmedia
Network Inc. ("Postmedia" ) today announced the formation of a Digital
Advisory Board. Janet Bannister, Jeff Jarvis, Jay Rosen and Judy Sims
comprise the Digital Advisory Board led by Malcolm Kirk, Executive Vice
President, Digital at Postmedia Network.

Janet Bannister
Janet Bannister is an entrepreneurial executive and principal of
JBannister Consulting. She founded and built Kijiji Canada to become the
No. 1 online classifieds site and one of the most visited websites in
Canada, and led the global business for Kijiji, managing operations in
Asia, Europe, and the U.S. A successful leader of Canadian and global
businesses in online classifieds and auctions, Bannister previously held
positions with McKinsey & Company where she was an accomplished strategy
consultant and as a marketing leader at Procter & Gamble.
Jeff Jarvis
Author of What Would Google Do? and the upcoming Public Parts,
Jeff Jarvis blogs about media and news at Buzzmachine.com.
He directs the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the
City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. He is co-host
of the This Week in Google podcast. He consults for media companies.
Until 2005, Jarvis was president and creative director of Advance.net,
the online arm of Advance Publications. Prior to that, he was creator
and founding editor of Entertainment Weekly; Sunday editor and associate
publisher of the New York Daily News; TV critic for TV Guide and People;
a columnist on the San Francisco Examiner; assistant city editor and
reporter for the Chicago Tribune and a reporter for Chicago Today.
Jay Rosen
Jay Rosen has been on the journalism faculty at New York University
since 1986; from 1999 to 2005 he served as chair of the department. He
lives in New York City. Rosen is the author of PressThink, a weblog
about journalism and its ordeals (www.pressthink.org),
which he introduced in September 2003. In July 2006 he announced
NewAssignment.Net, his experimental site for pro-am, open source
reporting projects. The first one was called Assignment Zero, a
collaboration with Wired.com. A second project was OfftheBus.Net with
the Huffington Post. Rosen has also been a member of the Wikipedia
Advisory Board. In 1999, Yale University Press published his book, What
Are Journalists For?, which is about the rise of the civic
journalism movement. From 1993 to 1997 he was the director of the
Project on Public Life and the Press, funded by the Knight Foundation.
Judy Sims
Judy Sims is the COO of the CanSport LIVE digital platform, a Toronto
based start-up where she is responsible for the development and
implementation of the company's strategic plan.
Previously, as the Vice President, Digital Media for the Toronto Star
Media Group, Judy was responsible for online strategy and profitability.
In addition to managing thestar.com and Toronto.com she created and
launched Wheels.ca, parentcentral.ca, yourhome.ca and healthzone.ca.
Prior to working in the online world, Judy spent over 10 years in the
print media industry. In 2005, as the Director, New Ventures and
Innovation for the Toronto Star, Judy launched and led "Weekly Scoop" ,
Canada's first weekly newsstand celebrity magazine.
