ERIC Selection Committee Reveals Truth/Agenda Of Hidden Academic Oligarchy, Says An Honest Discussion Author Paul Young
Countless Studies/Researchers Potentially Rendered Irrelevant
A high school dropout who spent thirty years developing a meticulous impact statement entitled, "An Honest Discussion," has had his document rejected by the esteemed education database, Education Resources Information Center(ERIC), Washington, D.C.
"I don't understand this at all," said author Paul Young. "The document not only met dozens of ERIC topical domains, it also met all three objectives detailed in section 172 of the Education Sciences Reform Act (USA) when only one was required to qualify. The rejection would be farcical in nature if it wasn't so obscenely dangerous to the whole process of democracy."
In an abstract describing the rejected document, Young writes, "The purpose of this document is to provide educators, social workers and researchers with the opportunity to identify directly with the neurological processes, thoughts, aspirations and challenges of the larger academically marginalized population."
When asked how the rejection made him feel, Young responded, "Speechless; vindicated; furious; - in that order! It is not the job of ERIC to skew the body of material so nakedly in support of its own narrow self promoting academic point of view. This proves beyond doubt my contention that there is a systemic self-censorship occurring within the educational establishment. Obviously, though, I need to rethink my view that teachers and researchers themselves were responsible for this. Clearly suspicion must now fall toward government and databases such as ERIC when so shocking, surprising and blatant an outcome as this occurs."
Ironically, the document abstract sums up by asking the question, "Has the established social/academic community willfully suppressed a larger human context?"
Young went on to say, "If it (ERIC) has been routinely rejecting documents from marginalized citizens, it will have reduced countless thousands of traditional academic studies and documents to mere sterile and irrelevant speculation. It is not up to ERIC to stock the pond with only the answers it wants to find. ERIC has turned the whole social/scientific exercise into a mad hatters' tea party."
