MediConnect Global Achieves Continued Revenue Growth in 2010, Reaches Other Significant Milestones
SALT LAKE CITY - (BUSINESS WIRE) - MediConnect Global today announced that among its major accomplishments
during an exceptionally productive 2010 the company achieved continued
significant revenue growth in the midst of a sustained national and
global economic recession. Notably, its healthcare division - where four
of the five largest health insurers are among its clients - has grown
2,076 percent since 2007.
"By any measure, 2010 was a phenomenal year for MediConnect Global,"
said Amy Rees Anderson, CEO of MediConnect Global. "Our revenue growth,
the addition of key board and team members, rigorous innovation that has
enhanced our already industry-leading services, and the powerful
resonance our products and services are enjoying in the marketplace have
combined to greatly accelerate our drive toward becoming the
indisputable global leader in medical record retrieval and digital
health information exchange services for organizations and individuals
alike."
MediConnect Global's 2010 performance represented a continuation of a
long period of ongoing expansion, bolstered by multiple major contracts
with global healthcare leaders. MediConnect Global has experienced more
than 1,100 percent overall revenue growth in the past six years, and in
2010 achieved the rare milestone of earning a spot on the Inc. 5000 list
for the fourth consecutive year. The company also ranked No. 155 on the
Deloitte Technology Fast 500 list of North America's fastest-growing
technology companies - up from No. 172 in 2009.
The continually rising demand for the company's services from both
organizations and individual consumers was reflected in the addition of
200 new full-time employees - including a significant expansion of the
company's rural Ephraim, Utah, office - in an effort led by an in-house
human resources team that during 2010 assumed responsibility for all
MediConnect Global worldwide recruitment. The soundness of the company's
strategic direction was bolstered by the addition of two global
healthcare leaders to its board of directors: Charles Johnson, former
U.S. assistant and acting secretary of Health & Human Services; and
Scott Parker, who led Intermountain Healthcare to global prominence in
his tenure as its president.
2010 was also a year of significant innovation for the company's
products and services. MediConnect Global's aggressive R&D efforts will
result in the launch of several new products in Q1 of 2011, designed to
enable health insurance carriers to maximize their ratings - and
corresponding level of reimbursement - on the U.S. federal government's
new 5-star system for evaluating the quality and responsiveness of
healthcare management and delivery.
In addition, the company has added significant enhancements to its
innovative myMediConnect personal health record (PHR) system, which
retrieves patient records, effectively organizes and digitizes the
information and provides it to users in a safe, HIPAA-compliant online
environment. These enhancements include access to compelling research
and other health information; and Wellness Tracker, which enables users
to improve their health by creating and monitoring custom diet plans and
workout routines for free. myMediConnect is one of four PHR systems
chosen by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to
participate in an extended PHR pilot program for Medicare patients.
"Our commitment to continually improving what are already the industry's
finest products and services for organizations and individuals will
ensure that we will remain at the forefront of the crucial electronic
medical records and health information exchange industries," said
Anderson. "We continue to build upon the largest global collection of
medical records, and will use it to empower the organizations and
individuals we serve to improve health and healthcare worldwide."
