One Voice Speaks Out on MTV's 'Jersey Shore' Season 4 to Film in Italy

Statement:

"It is just repugnant that MTV's "Jersey Shore," which has caused such damage to the perception of young Italian Americans, is planning to bring their reprehensible and disgraceful antics to Italy. For our country to "export" the bad behavior of these anything-for-a-buck, celebrity-hungry, no-talents to another country, in particular Italy, is not just an insult to Italian Americans but will mutilate the perception and reputation of ALL Americans. That old expression - "The Ugly American" - will have new meaning from what the 'cast' of Jersey Shore will foist on the people of Italy - we will all be "painted" by the outrageous, violent, law-breaking, insulting, inebriated, sex-wild bimbos and buffoons that inhabit the world of Jersey Shore.

I didn't think that MTV could outdo itself in its crassness, but was I wrong. First infecting our collective psyche with the dregs of Jersey Shore, then descending to unparalleled lows with their new "quasi-pornographic" teen-drama "Skins," to now smearing all of us by bringing this "train-wreck" programming to another country. MTV, shame on you!"
