Yesterday Tunisia, Today Egypt, Tomorrow Pakistan, Then India
By Chanakya Pandit
Despite the Egyptian government's attempts to block Internet access, activists and protesters are still able to get information on the ongoing uprising on-line.
The Internet, the computer, the cell phone have now empowered the general public and human beings around the world. With the Wikileaks scandals; the governments and leaders of the world have become transparent and world has now become sharply aware of all the corruption and injustices and crimes committed by their leaders and rulers for decades, and centuries.
Social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook and a number of on-line resources mean that the world can track the events in Egypt in real time. This is the new Global village we live in. In a nano second, we get news from around the world. This new global phenomenon of awareness and new voice of the people is now getting louder and louder day by day.
A few days ago, Tunisia was in the news with the people uprising and sending the corrupt president into exile. Tunisia was the spark, now all arabs are emboldened to bring down their oppressive governments.
This will spread to Iran, Jordan, Syria next and then on to Pakistan and India. Even China is a tinder box ready to explode. The uprisng is mostly carried out by the young, educated and those who are under the age of thirty. It is a whole new generation that is now speaking out and standing up and fighting back.
There are many causes to these uprisings, mainly the constraints of political and economic freedom is lighting the fire for these riots and upheavals. Also add on, "U.S. monetary policy exports inflation to the rest of the world (exacerbating a sharp rise in food prices).
The policy of the Central Banks and particularly the Federal Reserve Bank in the US continues on their policy of assuming "no inflationary impact," as it is only focused on U.S. domestic markets (and artificially massaged "core" inflation stats).
Also, the currency traders, the day traders, the short trading mafia, the Wall Street scamsters, con artists and the mobsters have raided sovereign nations resources, capital and credit worthiness by their many ponzi, illegal and artificailly created derivatives that is bankrupting the world's economy.
It is the common people, the people who need to work, hold on to a job for survival that are being uprooted, unemployed and made homeless and destitute.
Cost-of-living increases in Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Yemen and elsewhere touch off a domino chain of protests and riots, with large reserves of pent-up aggression finally bursting forth. Other Arab "strong men" observe with horror the plight of their fleeing brethren and set their minds to avoiding the same scenario.
A desperate lack of choices ultimately leads to one of the oldest tricks in the book: A diversion disguised as patriotism (or nationalism), the more belligerent the better, to draw civilian attention away from crumbling conditions at home.
With the potential for military escalation unclear, and much of the Middle East power structure in jeopardy all at once, the wrong combination of destructive feedback loops - and there are many combos to choose from - ultimately leads to war.
Today it is the Egyptians who have risen up against the dictatorial regime of Hosni Mubarak who has ruled Egypt for more than thirty years. The Egyptian elite, middle class and the educated population is now in the streets protesting against the corrupt politicians and political party. The corrupt regimes around the world are now fearful that their people will rise up against them. This is only the beginning. It will spread around the world.
The social unrest worldwide is going to get worse until all the profit greedy, power hungry elitists are brought to the justice that they have been allowed to operate above for far too long.
All those who are raised to positions of control must come to the realization that they have nothing without those who do the work. No country can have true peace and prosperity as long as the few are allowed to feel they are more valuable and held to different standards than the many.
Many European nations from Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Iceland and others that are tottering in the state of bankruptcy and witnessing an economic meltdown; are now witnesing rioting and peoples' uprisings on a regular basis.
No matter where you live or what you do to earn a living we are all human beings that wish to live in dignity and wish for a fulfilling, creative, productive life for ourselves, our families, our children and for all people.
Every man, and woman no matter what your education, or bank account shows is equally as human as the next. The more those in positions of power are allowed to break laws and not be held accountable for their thoughts and actions, the more social unrest and physical and psychological damage will be done to those looked upon by the power mongers as "second class citizens", "the less important ones".
The disparity, the divide between the rich and the poor, the less fortunate class has widened far apart. Today in the US alone, more than Fifty Million people are poor, destitute, homeless, starving, unemployed and suffering. How is it possible in a country such as the United States. Two billion people around the world live with little water, food and bare minimums. This is the greatest tragedy of our times.
Government as it is known in most if not all countries world wide is a broken business model that needs a systematic overhaul. It doesn't matter what country you live in, not one person in a position of power in the entire world can say that they have never lied to the people they hold power over in order to further their own agenda.
Global conglomerates, multi national corporations and the super rich are now beyond the reach of any national government, or laws and they owe no aligience to any one particular country.
Trillions of dollars of stocks, shares, commodities, exchanges, derivatives, hedge funds are traded on a daily basis around the world. The computers and quants run the show with their own secret understanding, all for the shake of profit and greed.
Everything is up for trade and business. Human life has no value, natural resources are to be exploited, the earths minerals to be plundered, the oceans and the seas emptied out of living creatures, nature and its abundance is all up for grabs. The United Nations, the World Bank, IMF, the Federal Reserve Bank, the Bank of England and other International Organizations have all condoned and silently witnessed this Global Tragedy and Plunder.
We can trust a homeless person to be more honorable than any corrupt politician, or dishonest business owner. The fact of the matter is the citizens of every country in the entire world are the real representatives of the countries all around the world. The power mongers and profit greedy ones are the criminals that take up space in the countries all around the world. They take the credit for anything and everything that furthers the illusion that they are the important and needed ones.
Why is it that when the profit greedy power mongers break a law it's called an "indiscretion" while when any normal citizen breaks a law it's called a "crime"? How can the average monthly pay to an Egyptian citizen be $50.00 per week, yet the US has been giving the Egyptian government up to 1.5 billion per year to build their economy and military since they declared peace with Israel back in the late seventies?
You don't have to study very hard to come to the conclusion that there is no government in the world that is not full of corruption. It's no wonder the citizens all around the world are up in arms. Accountability, transparency, anti corruption, rule of law, morality, ethics are only for the common, ordinary people. The rich, elites, billionaires, millionaires, leaders, gangsters, mobsters, are all above the law and no one gets caught, persecuted or is sent to jail.
Why? This is a question in the minds of the people.
The United States and the western powers have supported corrupt, dictatorial regimes around the world from Saudi Arabia to Egypt and on to Pakistan and many other nations. This hypocrisy is not acceptable to the people around thew world.
The US and western powers have always had double standards to further their own interest. All that is coming to an end now. The people of the different nations, around the world from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, South America, Asia and other parts are now rising up and demanding justice, accountability, morality and rule of law.
The tsunami of people power is going to sweep across the six continents. We are witnessing historic upheavals around the world.
The corruption in South Asian countries, particularly in Pakistan, India and Nepal are simply mind boggling. India is today one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
There is more than Four Trillion dollars deposited, hidden in foreign banks, safe havens and in offshore accounts by political leaders, business houses and individuals from India.
When the common Indian citizen has just barely enough for one meal a day for survival, billions of dollars, hundreds of thousands of crores of rupees have been siphoned off by the political leaders, ministers, bureaucrats and others.
This looting has gone on for too long and the people of India want now to punish these criminals.
Yet, where is the outrage, where is the uprising, what are we waiting for?? India too needs a regime change from the Nehru Gandhi dynasty that has ruled for too long.
