SOUND+SLEEP Announces Record Holiday Sales
CAMPBELL, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Adaptive Sound Technologies, Inc. (ASTI) today announced record holiday
sales revenue for its SOUND+SLEEP product (www.soundofsleep.com),
for the month of December, posting its best-ever holiday sales season.
Unit sales of the company's Adaptive Sound sleep machines more than
quadrupled in December 2010, compared to the previous December logging
its third consecutive year of record holiday sales.
"We closed out a record holiday sales season and couldn't be happier.
With nearly half a billion people worldwide suffering from sleep
disorders - spending an estimated 16 billion annually on treatment -
SOUND+SLEEP was a holiday hit this year," said Sam Nicolino, ASTI
president and CEO. "We are looking forward to 2011 with strong sales
expected as consumers learn the benefits of falling asleep and staying
asleep, naturally."
Nicolino attributes the company's strong holiday sales to increased
marketing and social media efforts, Cyber Monday, discount offers and
free priority shipping as the holidays approached. Due to this success
as well as other strong sales indicators, ASTI is ramping up
manufacturing for 2011 as it is poised for strong sales growth. With an
estimated 30 to 50 percent of the general population affected by
insomnia, and 10 percent suffering from chronic insomnia according to
emedicinehealth.com, it is apparent that SOUND+SLEEP addresses a real
problem for many consumers.
"People are looking for ways to stabilize their sleeping patterns,
naturally. We have a wide-range of customers buying SOUND+SLEEP for a
variety of reasons from general sleeping issues to medical issues such
as Asperger's Syndrome, to just wanting to drown out the neighborhood
basketball court or other outside noises," continued Nicolino.
"SOUND+SLEEP gives people an alternative to over-the-counter or
prescription medications; it is a natural solution, which allows you to
relax and replenish your mind and body for approximately the cost of one
month of sleeping medication."
Unlike other "white noise" sound machines, SOUND+SLEEP uses naturally
recorded, high definition sounds to produce a rich and natural sound
environment. The patented Adaptive Sound technology continually and
automatically "listens" to background sounds and adjusts accordingly to
mask unwanted and disruptive ambient noises. Sophisticated real-time
composition algorithms prevent the produced sound from repeating. To

The small machine fits perfectly on a nightstand and is easy to operate.
"I am six months pregnant and have a really hard time sleeping. My
boyfriend bought me the machine and I absolutely love it; I can't sleep
without it and neither can he," said Jessica Santana, satisfied
SOUND+SLEEP customer. "Our home is a much happier place now that we're
both able to sleep soundly again, and it will definitely help with the
sleep issues associated with becoming a new mom. The baby will
definitely have one its room as well."
Ideal for the bedroom or the office, SOUND+SLEEP offers eleven distinct
sound profiles scientifically engineered to promote a deeper sleep,
relaxation and renewal for the day ahead. The machine runs all night or
turns off automatically with a timer. Sound profiles include: White
Noise, Electric Fan, Waterfall, Meadow, Brook, Rainfall, Ocean, Train,
Fireplace, City and Meditation. SOUND+SLEEP is available now online at www.soundofsleep.com
or direct by calling 1-800-502-3815. The suggested retail price is
$99.95.
