NYC Women in Dismay Over Shortage of O.B Tampons

"New York women said the 'temporary supply interruption' of o.b. non-applicator tampons has left them struggling to track down the product.

The tampons, manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, have been rare on New York shelves since late fall due to what the company called a 'temporary supply interruption,' leading prices for the products on eBay to reach $25 per $8.79 pack, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.

J&J spokeswoman Yukela Williams said the products are expected to return to shelves soon.

Debbie Stoller, editor in chief of the popular feminist magazine BUST, said the tampons are in high demand because they are one of the only brands of environmentally friendly non-applicator tampons." UPI

Dudes are clueless, a friend of mine sent me an Instant Message asking what I was writing about, when I told him he replied, "Dang, if they run out of tampons why don't they just stuff a sock down there?"

Men don't like to think about tampons, women's sanitary products take all the mystery and wonder out of sex. We like to think that that part of a woman's body is always as clean as freshly fallen snow.

O.B non-applicator tampons are the only non-applicator (whatever that means) tampons, and some women will only buy that particular brand.

I hate to think of women getting ripped off spending as much as $25 for a pack of tampons, fortunately the unique tampons are expected to return to shelves soon.

Boy am I glad I'm a dude, and not a woman.
