WINHS Strongly Opposes FDA's Ban of Intravenous Vitamin C

According to our research associates at the Alliance for Natural Health, USA, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has notified US pharmacies that they will no longer be allowed to manufacture or distribute injectable vitamin C - despite volumes of well documented (current and past) evidence of its remarkable influence in successfully addressing a number of conditions and diseases that conventional medicine has not been able resolve.

As you know, a number of government health agencies, including the United States' own Center for Disease Control (CDC) has been promoting a worldwide flu "pandemic" throughout the past year and a half. However, the Food and Drug Administration now appears to insists on eliminating one of the historically successful and unrivaled treatments for this and many other diseases including; mononucleosis and hepatitis viruses, many influenza viruses and many others as well as many bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics and the recently announced risk of a worldwide drug-resistant TB pandemic.

For those in the know, Dr. Linus Pauling conducted clinical studies providing conclusive evidence of the benefits of high dose vitamin C with certain illnesses and cancers many years ago.

So why is this being FDA action now being done? Simply put, vitamin C can't be patented... and therefore can't be forced through the standard and expensive FDA approval processes and, regardless of even that, vitamin C is one of the least toxic components of our food supply. Liquid forms of it have been used safely for a number of decades and you should also be aware of the fact that intravenous vitamin C is being used in burn units around the world, including hospitals in the US, and has been successfully adopted by the military for this purpose

Pharmaceutical company influenced National Institutes of Health (NIH) refuses to fund any studies using intravenous vitamin C in patients. Certainly, instead of banning intravenous vitamin C, government health agencies should be supporting further clinical research into it. And while there are some privately funded studies underway, these would not be allowed to continue if the FDA bans the manufacturing and distribution of the substance.

As a note, with at least one of the pharmacies reported by the ANH, the FDA seems to also be banning injectable magnesium chloride and injectable vitamin B-complex 100. These two additional substances are routinely added to intravenous C to make the "Myers Cocktail ," which is used especially for conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, and infectious diseases such as hepatitis, AIDS, mononucleosis, and flu. And while the FDA is not seen to be going after the Myers Cocktail directly, it is attacking each individual substance used to make the cocktail, and may conceivably be going after injectable vitamins and minerals in general, despite such injections being given under the care of a qualified physician.

Studies show that even people in perfectly good health may not be getting enough vitamin C. A recent study on 1,000 Canadian adults found 33% had sub-optimal levels of vitamin C and one in seven were "very deficient" which could place them at increased risk for chronic health problems. According to the study those who were vitamin C deficient were also more likely to have larger waists, greater body mass, and higher blood pressure.

The study's author, Dr. Ahmed El-Sohemy, suggested eating fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, such as citrus fruits and peppers, or taking supplements. The recommended dietary allowance (RDA) in nonsmoking adults is 90 mg per day for men and 75 mg for women, though some experts say a minimum daily dose of 120 to 200 mg is more appropriate, and some routinely take much higher doses themselves. Even placebo-controlled trials have shown that vitamin C supplementation decreases the duration and severity of common cold infections.Research also shows that people suffering from various diseases may benefit from larger amounts. In the case of the common cold, a review of published trials found that amounts of 2 grams per day appear to be more effective than 1 gram.

But there is a big difference between oral vitamin C and intravenous C. One maintains your health. The other seems to directly attack pathogens and cancer cells. Vitamin C taken orally will not do this, because the concentration does not seem sufficient to accomplish the task.

Contact the FDA, and tell them to take their job of protecting our health seriously-by allowing injectable vitamin C, magnesium chloride, and vitamin B-complex 100 to continue being manufactured and sold! And don't accept the answer that these substances need to be taken through the full FDA approval process. These are not patentable substances and no one will pay billions to do that. To require a standard approval process for them is identical to banning them, as the FDA know full well.

Please contact the FDA right away, specifically, Mr. Michael M. Landa the acting director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, and also Mr. Vasilios H. Frankos, director of the Division of Dietary Supplement Programs in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and tell him to stop this action on intravenous vitamin C!

Your help with this, and distributing this to your friends and associates for their own action, is most welcome and appreciated.
