Courtyard by Marriott Celebrates the Grand Opening of Their New Shanghai Puxi Hotel

The Grand Opening Ceremony of Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Puxi was held at hotel ballroom on the evening of 29 Sept, 2010. Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Mr. Zhou Yu Peng, Secretary of the CPC Shanghai Zhabei district Committee, Mrs Fang Hui Ping, Area director of operations Marriott international, Mr. Jakob Helgen, Taiwan's heavy-weight musician and movie director, Liu Jia Chang and his wife Mrs. Zheng Zheng, Taiwanese actress, along with 160 invited guests attended the ceremony at the Shanghai downtown hotel.

The popular TV host Mrs. Ji Xue Ping kicked off the ceremony, sharing with the audience some insight surrounding the numbers associated with the new hotel. Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Puxi is the 1st biggest Courtyard hotel in China and the 3rd largest in the world, it features 456 spacious guest rooms and offers a refreshing environment that helps guests stay connected, productive and balanced. The Puxi Shanghai hotel's owner, a Marriott International representative, and a Shanghai government representative each delivered speeches. In his speech, Zhabei District Mayor, Mr. Zhou Ping, noted his appreciation for the great achievement made through close cooperation between the owner and Marriott International, which after 4 years of quality standard construction brought the property to life as a world-class international hotel. He is firmly convinced this new Shanghai downtown hotel will be a highlight addition to the surrounding area and to Zhabei District, which will promote and enhance the District's social and economic development.
