PORTLAND, OR, December 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- MrsP.com, the award-winning children's website, and its star, Kathy Kinney, announced today they have joined the 2010 Adopt-A-School program, an initiative of the Association of American Publishers (AAP). The week-long event, staged in cooperation with the New York City Department of Education and the Children's Book Council, matches authors and celebrated personalities with New York City public schools during the week of December 6-10. The goal of the event is to inspire a love of books and reading in students.

"Mrs. P's sacred mission is to expose kids to the endless joys of books and reading, so she was delighted to adopt a school," said Kinney, who before portraying Mrs. P, was best known as Mimi on The Drew Carey Show. "Mrs. P also adores New York City and loves meeting the students there. They're so sharp and funny and fun!"

MrsP.com will donate 25 copies of the new book, which is interactive and can used to improve reading skills when used in conjunction with Mrs. P's free website, to the school's library.
