The Godfather of Biodiesel in the Northeast is Elected to National Board of RINAlliance
CHELSEA, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Mr. Ed

Directors.

Over the past two decades, Ed has been a pioneering champion of
bringing alternative fuels, and biodiesel, into New England's fuel
industry. He is a regular
speaker within the petroleum industry on the value of
biodiesel and biofuels in the industry's marketplace here in New England
and the Northeast.
"It's smart business. It promotes energy independence. It
reduces our carbon footprint. It protects the environment and it serves
customers with greater efficiency and ecological awareness. Biofuels
prove that progressive players in the oil and petroleum industry can be
environmental leaders and innovators.
That's what Dennis K. Burke, Inc. is all about." -- Ed Burke.
The RINAlliance was developed by a not-for-profit association of
fuel marketers to assist in federal regulatory compliance requirements.
RINAlliance serves clients all across the United States and is a
web-based renewable fuel compliance service open to registered parties
regulated under EPA's Renewable Fuel Standard program.
A RIN (Renewable Identification Number) is a basic currency for
the Renewable Fuel Standards set forth in federal legislation in 2005.
The goal of the legislation was to increase our nation's use of
renewable fuels, such as biodiesel.
Dawn Carlson, president of the not-for-profit Petroleum Marketers
and Convenience Stores of Iowa, which developed RINAlliance, welcomes
Burke to the Board of Directors. "Mr. Burke is an exceptional advocate
of biofuel usage and an enthusiastic entrepreneur. We are honored to
have his leadership and insight guiding our operations.
"Ed Burke understands what complicated government regulations can
do to a business and he appreciates the commonsense approach that
RINAlliance offers to all blenders of renewable fuels," offered Jeff
Hove, Vice President of PMCI and RINAlliance. "Fuel distributors across
the country respect the work Burke has done and his enthusiasm for
sharing that with others," he concluded.
Dennis K. Burke, Inc. under the leadership of Ed Burke, won the
biodiesel contract for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2007. This
contract has been renewed in 2010 under the leadership of Ed's son Ted
Burke, the current president.
Ed's commitment and leadership in bringing biofuels into the
mainstream of private fleet management and government procurement has
increased awareness of environmental issues within the industry and
throughout Massachusetts and New England.
