California IT Professionals and Educators Meet to Nurture Business and Community Partnerships and Relationships
Folsom, CA - Bill Cullifer, WebProfessionals.org executive director and Chair of the WhyITNow.org will be a keynote speaker at the California Association of Leaders for Career Preparation (CALCP) and the California Association of Regional Occupational Centers Programs (CAROCP) on Nov. 17, 2011. The 21st Annual CALCP/CAROCP conference will take place on Nov. 17-19, 2010, at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort Rancho Mirage, CA.
"Californians must come together to significantly improve secondary and post secondary education, the desire for life long learning and student outcomes," said Cullifer "There has been a significant change in the competitive global landscape, and the next ten years will likely prove to be even more challenging. Despite the best efforts by many dedicated professionals and multiple success stories, California is not adequately preparing students with the skills required for employment in the new millennium. China, India and other emerging markets, on the other hand, are exceeding California's investments in areas of innovation and job creation and investments in IT education.
Cullifers' keynote will focus on how developing and nurturing business and community partnerships and relationships has a direct impact on student outcomes and their pathways to college and careers. Cullifer will also discuss options that administrators have with respect to keeping their institutions relevant and engaging.
