CNN en Espanol: Eduardo Suarez Named Vice President of Programming
Eduardo Suárez has been named to the newly created position of Vice President of Programming for CNN en Español. The announcement was made today by Cynthia Hudson, Senior Vice President and General Manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. Suárez will be based in Miami, and travel frequently to the network's bureaus and Atlanta hub, as well as on location to key news hotspots.
As vice president of programming, Suárez will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution for all network programs, specials and on-location events across CNN en Español's three feeds: pan-regional, Mexico and U.S. He will supervise production teams in Atlanta and Miami, and the creation of all new media content. In addition, Suárez will work in partnership with sales and marketing to maximize relevant business opportunities across available platforms.

"I am delighted to bring Eduardo on board to help position and program CNN en Español for continued success," said Hudson. "He has a wealth of industry experience, and has distinguished himself as both a creative and strategic leader."
Suárez has spent over 30 years in Spanish-language television, programming for audiences in both Latin America and the U.S. He most recently served as the Vice President of Productions and Programming for Mega TV, and has worked in various leadership roles at Univisión, Telemundo, Discovery Latin America and MGM Latin America, in addition to running his own company. He has won 18 Emmy Awards in recognition of his work as a director, producer, writer, editor and camera man.
This appointment is part of a broad strategic evolution of CNN en Español which includes the introduction of new branding, programming and on-air talent. CNN en Español's reface will roll out in phases, starting on November 22.
CNN en Español, CNN's independently produced 24-hour network in Spanish, is currently available in 25 million cable and DTH households throughout Latin America, and more than 4 million households across the United States. The network provides continuous news coverage of major world events, live breaking coverage supported by in-depth analysis, worldwide business and financial news, global weather updates, sports and feature programming on such topics as health, technology and entertainment.
