Kaplan University Launches Online Center for the Helping Professions
DAVENPORT, Iowa - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Kaplan University, a leader in higher education innovation, today
announced the launch of its new online Center for the Helping
Professions, a website designed to help visitors stay current in the
fields of psychology, human services, early childhood development and
educational paraprofessional. The online center features articles from
Kaplan faculty, current industry headlines, suggested web resources and
applications, and information about Kaplan University degree programs.
"This Center for the Helping Professions is aligned with Kaplan
University's mission of creating an innovative online learning

of Arts and Sciences. "In addition to providing a valuable resource for
students in our degree programs, the center also provides a free forum
for learning, discovery and the vigorous exchange of ideas that is open

Each month, the center will profile an issue relevant to these helping
professions, such as childhood obesity, bullying, separation anxiety in
children heading off to school and addiction. The center will also
feature webinars and links for information about a variety of topics,
including childhood development, psychology research news and baby brain
development. It follows the successful 2009 launch of Kaplan
University's Center for Health and Wellness (http://healthandwellness.kaplan.edu).
