Operation Oxy Clean Nets Two Narcotics Dealers in Folsom
Year long investigation yields $18,090 in narcotics, as Operation "Oxy Clean" lived up to its name on Wednesday.
Initiated in April 2009, Folsom Police Detectives established operation "Oxy Clean" because crimes associated with the highly addictive prescription narcotic, OxyContin, were becoming more prevalent. Detectives soon identified 25 year old, Sergio Rico, as a major source of supply in the City of Folsom. Rico's suspected co-conspirator, 20 year old Nicholas Bertolucci, was identified soon thereafter.
On November 10, 2010 search warrants were served on Rico's residence on Moss Creek Circle in Fair Oaks. During the search Detectives seized $565.00 cash, 78 OxyContin pills, 6.5 methadone pills, 15 grams of powder cocaine, a loaded .38 caliber handgun, and property stolen in Folsom residential burglaries.
Sergio Rico was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded handgun, possession of stolen property and conspiracy. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
On November 11, 2010 Detectives obtained a search warrant for a storage locker linked to Rico. Detectives searched the storage locker and seized an additional 150 OxyContin pills. During their search they discovered Bertolucci previously attempted to gain access into the storage locker to get the pills. In total, $18,090 worth of drugs were seized in search warrants related to Rico.
On November 12, 2010 Rico's co-conspirator Nicholas Bertolucci was arrested for burglary and conspiracy. He was also booked into the Sacramento County Jail.
