USI 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament a Success!
FRISCO, Texas - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The 4th Annual USI Charity Golf Tournament was held Thursday,
October 7 at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas. 128 golfers
competed in a four-man scramble format. Proceeds from the tournament
will benefit the Families of World War II Veterans Scholarship Fund for
underserved high school seniors.
Players had the opportunity to participate in a helicopter ball drop
with a prize value of $1,000 cash. Each played received lunch,
beverages, Italian dinner buffet and live entertainment provided by The
Victory Belles of The National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
Players had a chance to win a variety of prizes, including a 2011
Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Callaway golf clubs on the hole-in-ones.
Additionally, all players were eligible for door prizes valued at more
than $4,600. There were also airplane flyovers provided by Cavanaugh
Flight Museum, vintage cars provided by Dr. Martin Rinker and auction
items valued at $15,000. With the help of our players and more than 60
corporate sponsors, we were able to present a check to the scholarship
founder and board members for a donation of $48,000.
The Families of World War II Veterans is a worldwide, non-profit
organization, dedicated to ensuring that the historical lessons of World
War II are not forgotten. Our online global community enables visitors
to share experiences of this conflict and provides younger generations
with numerous resources to help expand their knowledge of the powerful
sacrifices made by World War II veterans around the world.
